Cloud Computing & Virtualization : These terms are often used interchangeably, but they mean different things. Virtualization is the foundation of cloud computing. VMware developed a virtualization technology that enabled a host OS to support one or more client OSs. Most virtualization technologies are now based on this foundation.
Virtualization : means creating a virtual rather than physical version of something such as computer an example would be running a Linux computer o your Windows PC.
The main issue with this setup is that the server’s service becomes unavailable when one of its components breaks. One word for this is a single point of failure. Unused dedicated servers, which frequently sat empty for extended periods of time while they awaited the delivery of their particular service, are another issue. These servers were a waste of energy and took up more space than was necessary for the services they offered. Server sprawl is the term for this.
